The country observes the whole month of August as โBuwan ng Wikang Pambansaโ in grateful celebration of having a common language that unites the whole nation.
Spearheaded by the Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino and the Department of Education, a lineup of activities has been firmed up to draw maximum participation from students who themselves are the biggest group that uses and studies the national language as part of their school lesson.
According to Education Secretary Armin Luistro, the month-long celebration of the national language is divided into five parts. From August 1 to 7, the focus is in giving importance to the national language which will be highlighted by taking to heart the lyrics of the national anthem.
